Speed Dating
Professionals Guild has a unique kind of optional speed dating mixer game for East Bay singles. Unlike the usual speed dating event which has a small number of people, Professionals Guild singles parties have hundreds of singles attending.
Often our East Bay parties are held at an elegant hotel like the San Ramon Marriott or the Hilton Concord Hotel. When you first arrive you will be given a game card, something quite simple, like a conversation starter, like "What was your most memorable date?"
When you talk to 3 people and get the signature of each person, you immediately win a small prize, like a $5 gift certificate, or you are entered into a drawing for a larger prize, like, say, $50 in cash or a gift certificate for dinner for two.
Another mixer game involves a lock and key. The ladies get locks and the gentlemen get keys. Everyone mingles and tries to find a match where a key unlocks a lock. Prizes or raffle tickets are awarded to matching couples for a drawing later in the evening.
We typically have 200 to 500 people at our regular monthly parties and more than 1000 at our new years eve parties. So we don't have you sit down at a table and then rotate from person-to-person like at traditional speed dating events. And participation is optional. Our speed dating happens from about 8 to 9pm. After that most people are just mingling and dancing till midnight. We play music from the 70's, 80's, & 90's mostly.
