On New Years, Professionals Guild takes over the entire Hilton Hotel and has two dance bands playing in separate huge ballrooms, simultaneously. You can can dance for a while in one room, then move to another conveniently located adjacent ballroom. Both rooms hold more than 500 people for dancing! (Ron Davis, a DJ and musician who also plays saxophone, trombone, trumpet appears in yet a third room. You can also enjoy casino gaming in a fourth room. There are long lines for party entry, but a magician is there to entertain you while you wait in line.
Professionals Guild also sponsors another New Years Eve Party in San Ramon. The Floor Shakers Dance Band played on New Years in 2006 and 2007. The entire Marriott Hotel was sold out 3 days before New Years in 2007!.
